We (Skin)care, Art Lab, Central Film Festival

Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva

My graphic design journey began in high school, where I built skills in visual communication and event promotion. From school events to larger projects at UC Irvine, I’ve focused on creating cohesive visual identities. As the visual designer for We (Skin)care, I established a minimal, clean aesthetic for social media and event materials using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva.

We (Skin)care

As the visual designer for We (Skin)care's first year, I established the brand identity of the student organization. In addition to designing the logo, We (Skin)care's social media was a major part of the organization's mission to inform and create a community about skincare. Therefore, its social media aesthetic was very important. I focused on a minimal, clean, and the signature blue aesthetic to standardize the style of social media campaigns and general meeting flyers. In addition to event marketing flyers, I also designed infographics. The software I used for these designs was Illustrator and Photoshop.

Art Lab, a commission under the Associated Students of UC Irvine (ASUCI), provides an inclusive space for students to explore and share their creativity. Through large-scale events and art exhibitions, Art Lab fosters a community where students can connect and express their love for the arts.

As a member of the visual design team, I contributed by creating digital flyers for three large-scale events to cross-promote on Facebook Groups and Instagram Stories. Using tools like Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva, I crafted designs that were shared across social media, helping to promote and engage the student body.

My passion for graphic design began in high school, where I took several graphic design courses that allowed me to hone my skills. I was fortunate to apply these skills by designing promotional materials for key school events, including the Central Film Festival, the theatrical production Kelly the Destroyer vs. the Springfield Cobras, and a show card for the International Baccalaureate Art Show, themed 'Palette.' These experiences gave me a strong foundation in visual communication and event promotion.
