The Beall Center for Art + Technology, situated within the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine, showcases contemporary artworks that leverage digital technology to create interdisciplinary art and engage audiences. I restarted the gallery's Instagram account by developing campaigns to promote ongoing exhibitions.

My Role
Originally, I took on the role of a Gallery Docent. My responsibilities included overseeing and maintaining the gallery space and assisting with museum-related administrative duties. I joined as the gallery prepared to open its fall quarter exhibition Computational Poetics. I noticed that the Beall Center's social media platforms had been inactive for six months and volunteered to restart its presence. Providing a mix of promotional, informational, and unique content, I initiated an 11-week campaign that spotlighted artists and their artworks in the exhibition. I wore many hats in the production process where I photographed and retouched artwork images, copywrote captions, scheduled posts on Meta Business Suite, and community-engaged with the Instagram audience.
I launched a #WorkInDetail campaign using Reels to showcase specific artworks up close, accompanied by informative text snippets. After analyzing the analytics, I found that Posts outperformed Reels, leading me to end the series. This experience demonstrated how the audience demographic can influence the performance of different types of content.

Results
Managing the Instagram after the account's hiatus, I increased followers by 10% in three months. Reach and Engagement also increased with 80% being non-followers in Reach and 60% non-followers in Engagement.
To make the transition process easier for the next person who will manage the Instagram account, I created a brief welcome guide with basic information related to the Beall Center. The guide features important information such as branding, the social media process, resources, and a personal note.
